General Event Information
The Brisbane Running Festival 2010 will be held on 30 July – 1 August. The event will encompass event distances ranging from 1km and 2km kids events as well as 3km Fun Run/Walk, 10km Fun Run/Walk, Half Marathon and the Full Marathon distance.
All events will be electronically timed and courses accurately measured. There is an event for everyone from to toddler and beginner right through to the experienced runner. A fantastic course taking in the sights and sounds of Brisbane city on a beautiful August morning.
If you missed your opportunity to participate at the Gold Coast Marathon in July, want to test your fitness or have a bet with a mate – Brisbane Running Festival 2010 is the way to do it!

Pace Runners
The Brisbane Running Festival 2010 will be offering a fantastic group of pace runners that will help you achieve your goal in the Half Marathon event. These runners along with their groups will be marked clearly on race day, all you need to do is stay with them to reach your goal!

Note: Pace runners can be identified as runners wearing an inTraining Running Singlet and carrying a flag with the designated Pace Time printed on it.

Hydration
Aid stations will be located approximately every 2km. Water and sports drinks will be provided at each aid station for half marathon and 10km competitors. Water, sports drinks & fruit will be provided for all competitors in the finish recovery area.
Please ensure that you adequately hydrate before your event to ensure you do not suffer from dehydration.

Medical Aid
All medical issues should be directed to the Medical Tent, located in the at the finish Line. If you require any medical assistance on the course at any stage, please inform a race official. If you have a medical condition that could cause you difficulties during the event, please record the details on the back of your race number.
Inadequate training, failing to pace yourself and disregarding the importance of taking fluids can result in life threatening conditions such as heat stroke and dehydration. It is essential that you are adequately prepared before the event and take fluids at every opportunity during the event.
