Entries are open for Brisbane Marathon Festival

Runners are being encouraged to enter for the Brisbane Marathon Festival, with registrations officially open.

Now in its 22nd year, organisers believe the Brisbane Marathon Festival is fast becoming a globally recognised event for the City. Race organiser Steve Manning said improvements made to the course last year attracted seasoned runners from 18 different countries and every state in Australia.

“The course is stunning. Runners weave through Brisbane’s major city streets, across the Story Bridge, along the Brisbane River and finish in the Botanical Gardens. As a sports tourist you couldn’t ask for anything more.”

“We hope to attract over 7,000 entries this year, a 40% increase on last year’s 5,000 runners.” said Manning.

He’s encouraging people to get their entries in now before the cut off date for late fees.

“The standard entry is open until 31 July, with late entries available right up until the morning of the event.”
